Results/Outcomes

Manages and controls product inventory for assigned regions and locations, by ensuring accurate and timely information is provided in an atmosphere of time pressures and multiple demands.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Trains pack-house locations on receiving, shipping and etc on bar code system. Prepare bar code Sheets as needed.

Checks inventory (pallet detail) daily for any needed adjustments. Researches / reconciles inventory with greenhouses or other grower locations.

Monitors inventory at all assigned grower, pack-house and storage locations, and coordinates with other departments to insure fruit is all shipped before account sales is due.

Assists warehouse, QC, DOT and Canadian greenhouses regarding inventory related support calls.

Assist growers with value-add repacking at their locations.

Communicates with growers and internal staff to secure forecast and actual inventory information in a timely manner.

Works with growers, category management and marketing department on setting up new item codes for assigned deals and fruit purchase as necessary.

Trains and supervises any new inventory and computer procedures for assigned grower, pack-house and storage locations.

Works with management regarding setup of any new location and complete proper documentation for cold storage and user set up within assigned region.

Watches for miss-shipped orders and assist sales/warehouse to correct inventory/ orders.

Processes paperwork such as Ocean Vessel Customs paperwork, cold storage and pack-house invoices, etc.

Attends Operations/Inventory administration meetings to discuss any issues or go over any new procedures.

Troubleshoots any issues relating assigned region and locations with the A&F department.

Works closely with other inventory staff in maintaining inventory for all deals that go through assigned region and locations. (ie SAM , NAP , NZP, PEC, MXH ect…)

Joint responsibility for handling the receiving, shipping and repackaging operation for the Peruvian citrus and Mandarin deals.

Performs other related duties or projects as required.

Experience

w Some related experience in inventory control or operations in a product distribution environment

Skills & Technical Knowledge

w Knowledge of the relevant computer applications; preference given to individuals with knowledge of the Oppenheimer system, with directly related experience with the Oppenheimer inventory systems

w Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships

w Strong written and oral communications skills

w Ability to conduct training an asset

w Knowledge of the concepts, methods, standards and practices of shipping, receiving and distribution of goods, preferably in the produce industry

w Ability to travel to assigned locations and be on call

Credentials (DESIRED)

w High school diploma & some post secondary education in a related field
