Job
Description
The Quality Manager is accountable for
quality results and for all quality related issues through emphasis on customer
success and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibility
Areas
- Accountable for the HFI
system including balance, disposition, re-work and inventory levels.
- Direct supervision of
quality control auditors and execution of SPC.
- Ensure that plant audit
procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are
maintained.
- Manages program for
conducting and evaluating various product tests, calibration and tests
related to product and production.
- Resolve quality issues
at plants, warehouses, and customers as required.
- Communicate constantly
with floor personnel on customer (internal and external)
issues/complaints, quality objectives (KPIs), and processes to promote
further understanding and compliance.
- Educate and instruct
plant personnel in quality control testing, housekeeping practices and
operational procedures.
- Develop, champion, and
implement operational procedures, work instructions, and inspection/test
methods to improve overall quality, efficiency and product yields. This
includes GMPs.
- Prepare quality reviews
and submit them to Plant Manager.
- Assist in development
of special plant projects and work in conjunction with Director, Quality
Assurance.
- Responsible for
training employees in quality procedures and related systems/processes.
- Collect, analyze, and
utilize SPC and CVP data for continuous improvement efforts.
Job
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in
technical, relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of
strong hands-on quality management experience in a high speed
manufacturing environment.
- Very strong management skills
- Collaborative, hands-on
style.
- Strong decision-making
and leadership skills.
- Direct experience in
customer communications and customer problem resolution.
Experience with SPC and other analytical quality
techniques necessary
Special Knowledge or
Type of
Skills:
- Good technical skills, statistics,
leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Lean manufacturing experience desired.
- Metal Packaging experience a plus.

- DOE - $80-90,000 base
