The Performance team is responsible for ensuring high performance and scalability across all Informatica products. Engineers in the team are responsible for initiating and developing cutting edge performance and scalability features, perform analysis to identify product bottlenecks, and work with 3rd party vendors and partners for publishable industry benchmarks.
We are looking for a Principal Performance Engineer who is primarily responsible for conducting performance analysis and benchmarking, and also provide feedback and advice to product development. Based upon design and requirements documents, the performance engineer will identify and collect the necessary metrics to ensure the performance, stability, and scalability of Informatica's products.
Candidate may be asked to travel (no more than 10% of the time) to do benchmarking and sizing exercises at SUN, HP, IBM, and teradata labs.
Required Skills:
- Must be self starter with good communication & presentation skills in a fast paced environment with multi-tasking capabilities.
- BS in CS or equivalent technical degree with minimum 8 years enterprise software experience - development, QA, or performance & 4 years hands-on performance related experience
- Must have proven experience in identifying bottlenecks & measuring performance in server or enterprise applications
- Must have experience with UNIX and Windows platform
- Must have performance analysis experience with Web services/SOA (e.g., SOAP, UDDI, WSDL, etc.) and middleware technology i.e., WebSphere MQ, Tibco, JMS
- Experience in LoadRunner/SilkRunner tools and scripting, designing scenarios and performance test analysis
- Must have Experience with Java Application Performance tuning in the context of J2EE style server or middleware applications
- Must have White box/API testing experience using java and C++
- Knowledge of Perl and Shell scripting
- Should be able to create sizing and Capacity Planning analysis document for partners and customers
- Must have experience with RDBMS such as Oracle, DB2, and MS SQL
- Must have expertise in application profiling i.e., Quantify, Optimizeit Profiler,Netbeans profiler and JProbe
- Strongly preferred: any candidates who participated in a published industry standard Application Server and Web Services Benchmark such as TPC-App or in middleware benchmarks such as MQ/JMS/Tibco
Desirable:
- Familiarity with configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting of MQ/ JMS/Tibco and Application Servers.
- Familiarity with configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting of e RDBMS systems Oracle/ SQL Server/ DB2
