Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Supports and increases sales and profits to a specific account base, or geographic territory, through selling, business skills, and knowledge of the specialty gas industry.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.
• Increase sales and profit margin of specialty gases and related products through penetration to assigned accounts and by closing new accounts.
• Demonstrate products and services and explains features of each product and service. Emphasize benefits of Airgas products and services to potential customers.
• Represent company product line to prospects and existing local and national customers. Explain products to customers matching customers' needs with the appropriate products.
• Prepare quotations and negotiates pricing with both current and prospective customers.
• Act as a resource for other sales representatives in developing and maintaining specialty gas sales within their customer base.
• Answer customer inquiries and satisfactorily resolves customer complaints.
• Prepare required reports and keeps expense accounts.
• Keep current with specialty gas products and related applications.
• Communicate information gathered in the field effectively with inside support staff and appropriate management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical or science bachelor degree
• 2 years direct sales experience
• 2 years specialty gas industry experience
• 1 year of interfacing with laboratory and/or biotechs
• Word, Excel and PowerPoint application expertise
• Class 5 Driver License with a clean driving record
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to customer sites
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
