Primary Responsibilities:
This position includes requires both technical instruction as well as course development assistance. The proportion of time spent in these two roles will vary with departmental need and with the skills and experience of the applicant
- Deliver technical classes to Informatica customers, partners and employees at customer locations, Informatica locations, rented computer education facilities and via the Informatica Virtual Academy .
- Assist with the setup of the training environment at all facilities; this may include coordinating with customer technical personnel, installing training environment at Informatica facilities and troubleshooting the setup at rented facilities.
- Deliver Informatica PowerCenter Level 2 Developer and at least one non-core course (non-PowerCenter)
- Take ownership and deliver custom training assignments, gather requirements, become familiar with customer’s business needs, and manage the engagement from start to finish
- Conduct quality assurance of curriculum by testing and reviewing labs and presentations.
- Provide guidance to curriculum developers in relation to the content and flow of the course material
- Contribute and manage the knowledge base for frequently asked support questions
- Share knowledge with other instructors, developers, testers, technical support, customers and other technical personnel
- Work independently and with a team of instructors
- Coaches/mentors GES instructors
- Reports to the Area Sr. Manager.
- Minimum of 136 teach days per year
- Maintain an instructor rating of 4.5 out of a 5 point scale.
- 75-100% travel required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Computer Science, Journalism, or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience with current RDBMS releases such as DB2, Informix, SQL Server, Sybase or Teradata
- Minimum 2 years prior experience of working in a client/server software environment
- Minimum 3-4 years prior experience of educating on client/server software products
- Solid operating system (OS) platform experience, such as Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 or UNIX
- Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Limited knowledge of Data Warehousing or Data Integration
- Experience with MS Office (Word and PowerPoint)
- In-depth knowledge of Informatica products (minimum 2-3 years) or more than 10 years of course delivery experience
- Ability to teach PowerCenter Level 1 and 2 Developer courses, PowerCenter Administrator course and at least one other non-PowerCenter course.
- Ability to understand and work within a customer’s technical environment, including the operating systems, databases, & networks
- Certified on PowerCenter
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
