This is a temp to hire position.
The Staff Accountant will assist in the preparation of month and year end financial statements. Primary areas of responsibility will include (a) calculating, assessing, allocating, and accruing most shop and corporate expenses, (b) preparation of line item detail for corporate expenses to all dept vice presidents, (c) recorded journal entries as required by the commercial finance team, (d) oversight of the car leasing program and (e) daily reporting. Work with other departments to investigate charges, allocation of expenses or provide backup documentations. Other duties will include general ledger analysis and reconciliations along with special projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Prepare and enter journal entries for various business transactions and accounting functions, accrue most expenses during month end close · Prepare and Distribute Central Overhead P&Ls (detailed) and Trial Balance to all Department VPs and Directors. US, CA, and MEX · Provide general Ledger Analysis & Cost Center Analysis. Investigate, and ensure all the entries/charges are posted into correct GL & cost center, US, CA, and MEX. · Reclass Miscellaneous , and incorrect charges intro right GL using right cost/profit center · Prepare and distribute Shop Controllable Cost reports for various expenses of US & CA to Shop Operations & Finance MGMT. · Prepare and distribute summary of US & CA Repairs & Maintenance to Finance & Real Estate MGMT. · Primary contact for Shop ops, HR, Logistics, and all other departments for detailed P&L inquiries. · Maintain schedule of Lease required advertising and work with marketing to ensure expenses are adequately stated in correct period · Prepare and Distribute Monthly, quarterly, and Certifies Sales, and Revenue reports to landlords in US & CA. · Support Manager of Financial reporting with any accounting or financial issue on a daily basis · Participate in ways to reduce expenses.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS degree in Accounting - CPA Candidate · Attention to detail with an analytical and inquisitive nature · Able to work to strict deadlines and take responsibility for work produced · Strong business acumen · Must have excellent MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access skills · Experience with SAP / BW a plus · Spanish language skills preferred
