ASSISTANT MAITRE D’

The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Maitre D include, but are not limited to:

• Aids in the making certain of seats and tables are sufficient and that they are in good repair.
• Assist the Maitre D’ in assigning tables for the different workstations.
• Assures that the table settings seating and general condition of the restaurant is up to standards.
• Remains in the restaurant during operating hours and assists both staff and guest in their needs.
• Assists in greeting and seating guest and in insures prompt, efficient and
• courteous service.
• Handles reservations, questions and complains when necessary.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of two years of working experience as Senior or Head Waiter Assistant Maitre D’ in a large cruise ship, or a combination of ship and hotel experience in these positions.
• Managerial experience in handling a large restaurant serving the three meal periods.
• Proven ability to manage and direct a large multinational service team.
• Fluent in English: speak, read and write.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent degree is mandatory; Hotel School or University degree is preferable.
• Courses in safety, environmental, public health and sanitation regulations and procedures are required.

· Proof of continuing education in professional F&B courses and seminars.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Able to lift at least 25 lbs.

· Fine motor skills.

· Work within different temperature changes—indoors to outdoors.

· Able to pass basic safety course.
