I am a RN who is a stay at home;and needs help ?
Asked by qwerty
I have two small children and stay at home for about 95% of the time I work in a hospital only once a couple of month or so. I would like to find a job that is in my field which I love, but not in a hospital setting,(can't stand the politics) if any one has any serious suggestion please help.
Thanks

I've been told by many travelers that they love to travel because they get to work in a hospital setting which they love. The contract is 13 weeks which means that they are not required to do staff meetings because technically they are not staff, and they are not required to join committees. I've also been told that just about the time they start to get sucked in to the drama on the floor the contract ends and they go some place else. You can travel in your own area so that you will not have to disrupt your kid's routines. So if the only reason you are staying away from the hospital setting is because of the politics this may be an option for you.

hospice care, assisted living, mental health, doctor's office, consider getting more education and going into teaching nursing

There are so many options as a nurse, but with all jobs not just nursing, there is politics!

JNS is right. If you are avoiding hospital setting because of politics, you'd be equally disappointed to discover that in nursing homes, private offices or anywhere, there will always be politics.
