What is a professional job/career?
Asked by Manjinder C
Can you define what a professional job or career is? I know jobs like a doctor, dentist, and accountant, are all professional jobs, but what about things like a systems analyst or a data entry clerk? Is it always necessary to have a university education in order to have a professional job or career?

A:
Best Answer:
One with controlled entry and academic qualifications. E.G you have to be ordained to the clergy, or on the medicall register, or the law list etc.

A:
A professional job means that you only finish when it is finished. Like for instance: A pilot will not say "S*d this I am out of here, you do it!" because too many times of circling around and the fuel is running out. A surgeon will not say "That's me done" because his shift has ended and the patient has a complicated injury.

I think a professional job is always a graduate one, yes. But beyond that I'm not sure, I'd be interested in the answer to this question too!

The old days when there were only a few decent jobs worthy of being called a profession have changed Now I would class anything above minimum wage and with the chance of promotion, and further work based training a profession Take Teaching for example, plumbing and electrical trades pay more than that that job now, so how can you class them as being inferior today?

A professional is one who has training in their field of work. A job is any type of work. Career is a chosen line of work that one is dedicated to and hopes to achieve success in higher achievements in that same line of work. This ia a brief and simple explanation to your question.
