When should I call publix to follow up on the application I filled out?

Today I called to see if publix was hiring and how long will the hiring manager be around I found that they were hiring but didn't find out how long the manager will be around I came in filled out the application after I was done I asked to speak with a hiring manager but he wasn't around the lady at customer service told me to write down my name and said she would have the manager pull my application up tomorrow so when will it be best for me to call to follow up with my application

Call the day after the hiring manager will pull up your application (ie. day after "tomorrow"). When you call, ask to speak to the hiring manager and then explain that you applied the day before yesterday and the hiring manager wasn't in at that time and you were told that the manager would look at your application the next day which was yesterday (at the time you are calling it will have been yesterday) and so you were calling to follow up, did the hiring manager have a chance yet to look at your application? Ask for NAMES of people you speak to and keep track of that (so you won't have to say "the lady at the cashier desk said" and you can say "Melissa Jones said...". Ask to speak to the hiring manager even if he/she hasn't yet looked at your application, and just introduce yourself and say you are hoping he/she will have a chance to review your application soon and ask when you should follow up (when they will have looked at it). If you call and are told the hiring manager isn't available, leave a short message with your name and phone number and that you are calling to follow up on the application you filed the day before yesterday (and get the name of the person who takes the message).
