Actually, it depends on the company. Some national chains do require drug testing, but probably not if you're looking at a privately-owned restaurant.

I'm assuming you're a yankie. No, I never had to submit to such unreasonable totalitarian demands. What I do in my spare time is none of their fucking business. It is however MY business.

sometimes- it depends on the job. When I worked for IHOP as a waitress I had to get one but I passed it because I don't do drugs. That's what's good about that.

A:
It depends on the workplace. Some chain restaurants can require drug tests. Smaller mom and pops restaurants probably aren't going to go through that screening process. You'll just have to ask the employer for the requirements of the position.

A:
Now days more retail stores require you to take a drug test for cashiers. And some restaurants do to.
Answered by Lynn B

A:
Depends on company policy. My step-son works at Boston Market and did not need to take a drug test. Before that he worked at Subway, Quiznos, Little Caesars, none required drug tests. But if the stores are franchised the franchise owner could probably make his or her own rules on that.

A:
That would be at the request of the employer. Some would. Others won't. If you're not taking drugs you have nothing to worry about, do you?
Answered by SDD

A:
I work at food lion (a super market in virginia). We are subject to randon drug tests but I have been there for 3 years and never had one. So I would say no. I did get hurt a few weeks ago and took one at the emer. room, company policy. Just dont het hurt haha

A:
Most potential employers require a drug screening. Not all of them but most of them do. The reasoning behind it, is they want reliable, honest, and dependable employees. If you are messing around with drugs, they can interfere with your work and cause unemployment and legal troubles for you. Hope this Helps!!
