Do you remember what the Judge's instructions were regarding your record? In most cases there is no conviction recorded, especially for a first offense.
I would suggest asking your local police station for access to your police record (if you are willing to wait about a week, it won't cost you anything) to determine if there is anything on it. They may even be willing to just tell you, if you have sufficient ID.
Also, shoplifting at 18 is NOT going to turn off a potential employer. I work at a bank and we have accepted qualified candidates with criminal convictions that did not relate to fraud, theft, major violence, etc. Employers understand and are not trying to keep generally law abiding people like yourself from filling a vacancy you are qualified to fill.

yes you can get a job as a cna. They are looking for crimes against people or abuse. As long as you didn't steal from someone you were caring for they won't take issue with it.

Isnt there like that whole record stuff? And if you have a criminal record its a lot harder getting to get into that particular area. They always check it, so maybe when they ask. "Do you have a criminal record", just be honest =]
