How do you follow up a resume submission to Human Resources?

I recently applied for a job by sending my resume via email to the company's Human Resources department. I received an email confirming they are evaluating it. My question is: How do I follow up with HR on my resume? Anybody have good job hunting tips?

Send a follow up email expressing your interest in the job and highlight your strengths and experience as it pertains to the job you applied for. Keep it brief and close by asking if there is a convenient time you can speak to discuss your qualifications.

wait two days before calling. but they do want you to call so they know you are interested.
