no, a job is a job.. go for it. honestly, I think working at McD's is better then being unempolyed! If you're able-bodied, might as well be making money where you can & not sitting at home. If you're worried too much, you could go to a nearby city where maybe not as many people will recognize you! good luck~ I knew a guy that worked at McD's for 27 years, he LOVED working there!! Now he works at a gas station. He drives a nice car-- but he just stuck around working at the fast food because he loved the environment... weird huh?

It's fine as long as you don't plan to make a career out of it. It's better to work at McDonalds and make money than to be jobless and broke. Just don't make a habit of eating their fatty foods everyday.

Well, if i were you i would target a local place that doesn't attract the unhealthy crowd. Like a locally own italian restaurant which will pretty much raise your pay and you wouldn't be pushed around by a gay manager and the local one will be more flexible with your times

There is no shame in work. It depends on how old you are 35 and working there, maybe you can have a better choice of jobs, but if that's the only thing there right now, whats important is that you are working. Now if you are still in high school, its a way for you to work harder in school so that you know where you don't want to go work later in life. But there is never Shame in Work

If you are desperate, you'll take the McD's job. My sister worked at a McD's when she was in High School. Then she was the valedictorian, now she is a VP for a major bank. TRUE STORY........but, that doesn't mean that McD's will do all that for you, my point is , doesn't my sister totally kick butt! oh and you gotta do what you gotta do. And no its not shameful to work anywhere. Just take pride in your work where ever you work and do your best

It's a shame to even be seen inside McDonalds. EMPLOYMENT The Corporation has pioneered a global, highly standardised and fast production-line system, geared to maximum turnover of products and profits. McDonald's now employ more than a million mostly young people around the world: some say a million people who might otherwise be out of work, others however consider that they are in fact a net destroyer of jobs by using low wages and the huge size of their business to undercut local food outlets and thereby force them out of business. Is McDonald's a great job opportunity or are they taking advantage of high unemployment to exploit the most vulnerable people in society, working them very hard for very little money? Complaints from employees range from discrimination and lack of rights, to understaffing, few breaks and illegal hours, to poor safety conditions and kitchens flooded with sewage, and the sale of food that has been dropped on the floor. This type of low-paid work has even been termed 'McJobs'. Trade Unionists don't like McDonald's either. The company is notorious for the vehemence with which they try to crush any unionisation attempt. They argue that all their workers are happy and that any problems can be worked out directly without the need for interference from a third party, but are they in fact just desperate to prevent any efforts by the workers to improve wages and conditions?

Only by snobs who have everything handed to them! Comeon even gramas work at Mcdonalds the one thing is though there is no stigma sometimes people will treat you like crap. They are bottomfeeders and only treat people bad because they think they can get away with it.The fact is in fast food you can move up and make good money in management so keep that in mind managers get paid good.

not really. you have to be a good multitasker. I think that they are very talented to be able to take an order, talk to someone else, and count the money, be giving you change, entering the order, and greeting you all at the same time!

McDonalds is one of the best jobs you can get, especially if you are young. The only stigma is you'll have money while your sneering pals will still be leaching off their parents. No biggie.
