Skills Format Resume good for Consulting Background?
Asked by lipgloss
I have a consulting background therefore the work is project based and though the industry is specific, the work involved ranges from analysis, to project management to software implementation. Therefore, I think a skills resume is more appropriate rather than list all different projects. Am I on the right track?

Best Answer:
yes I think so. You need to start with the skills list and then put together a career track that contains the projects and the areas where you made personal contributions. Make sure that it is clear that you made a difference , talk about the things that you actually did ... "I did" not "we did" Roy

A:
Skillls or Functinal format is Definitely important to elaborate the EXPERTISE profile. But that by itself is not sufficient. As a Consultant; YES one applies His/Her skills, Expertise and Experience to Define, Develop, Deploy, and set systems for CIP on Results / Solutions for potential Business / Enterprise. Also important is to detail the EXPERIENCE profile with the RESULTS expressed in terms of Program/Project size/savings, ROI, Savings Value, Time period Savings, and Additional achievements in areas of Business / Market penetrations achieved. Skill sets, Knowledge, and Training imparted to Company Functional Personnel to carry and Maintain the Goals. plus Best Practices developed in areas of Product, Process, People capabilities. I believe this savings expressed from Business point of view gives Business / Enterprise better information for further dialogs to achieve their goals and potentials on returns on their investments.
