finding a job in dublin?

my husband and I are thinking of moving to dublin...we're italian...I would like to know more about the work market there...are there good possibilities for finding a job? He's a webmaster/webdesigner with a degree in communication and marketing and I am a language teacher, I speak English, Italian and Spanish...we've heard there are many opportunities available but we would lke to hear from someone who lives there...only serious answers please...thanks for your help

I went to Dublin on a similar whim - only not quite as professionally qualified as yourselves but with lots of admin experience nevertheless. The opportunities are there but Dublin is more expensive then London - that is a fact so make sure you are financially sorted to live without a job in a very expensive city for a while (at least a month, maybe 6 weeks) while you explore opportunities there. If you teach English as a foreign language you may be able to start your own thing up - Dublin has a lot of foreigners, amongst them Polish and other East Europeans that want to improve their English not only for survival in their host country but for when they go home to avail of a growing economy that will require such skills.

There are opportunities, but not as many as there were last year. The economy is just coming out of a great period and there is some uncertainty at the moment. 50% of people who came here 2 years ago have no work and many of the foreigners are starting to go home, but these are mostly the unskilled etc. who were working on the building sites. There is always work for skilled people.
