Don't use the term secretary -- old fashioned. It's either Admin. Assistant or Executive Assistant. Salaries will vary by state or region and by responsibility. Can be as low as $20,000 -- can be as high as $75,000. Depends on your background, the company you work for, who within the company you are assisting, etc. You will need excellent computer skills, language skills such as grammar, spelling and composition. You will need to be able to multi-task. Work well with deadlines. Know how to dress and act professionally. How to behave in varied social situations. Good luck

An Admin Assistant works for lower level execs like supervisors and middle managers and your salary will depend on how much experience you have and what state you live in. An Executive Assistant is someone who works with CEOs, CFOs, presidents, the highest levels of the corporation. Your skills will have to be top notch; typing, spelling, grammar, phone etiquette, organizational skills, and an ability to not fall apart under stress and not be goo-goo when the President of the company walks in. Exec Assistants can make up to 80K a year or more, depending on experience and what state you live in.
