What would be a good part-time job for a full time college student that doesn't involve food or telemarketing?
Asked by sportman16977
I've worked as a server/host at Bob Evans and Bennigans. I couldn't stand telemarketing. Does anyone have any ideas of places where I can work? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Just don't say sell stuff on ebay or half.com because I already do that and don't post things about making money online by doing surveys or pyramids by anything like that. Thank you.

Try a retail job in an area that interests you. If you're a reader, try a book store. If you're a computer geek, try a computer store. Outdoorsy type? Sporting goods store.

Do you like working with children?
Child care centers or YMCA's are a great place. The reason is because the hours are typically 6 AM - 6 PM, and usually no weekends if you work at a "daycare".
I did it all through college it was a great resume booster as well as I work my way up the chain and began supervising staff, organizing schedules, etc.

Talk to your local college employment offices. Usually on campuses there are tons of opportunities for student workers. As a part of your financial aid package there is sometimes a option for work study, where the federal govt. will pay some of your wages. These college based employers wont pay amazing but they will work with your class schedule. I spent 3 years as a student worker at the library and loved the flexibility and the pay was good.

Retail worked okay for me, companies like Home Depot and Publix offer tuition reimbursment. An internship may be another option, some are paid and you get great experience for your resume.
