yea thats tacky, they should be interested in your credentials and not your looks!!!
Answered by J-ROD

A:
Yes! Bad idea, don't do it....Most employers would think you were into yourself or something. It also distracts from your qualifications. Let them get to know you before they see you and judge.

Yes, it's a bad idea. Unless you are applying to be a model and they ask you to put a picture on the resume.

A:
For jobs it shouldn't matter how you look, if they really would like to see you than they will call you in for an interview. Just fill out the information that they want you to do, than call every so often so they know you really want the job. Including a picture may overdue it just by a little, they don't care on what people look like (depending on the business), but they are focusing on how well you can do on the job.

A:
It may look nice, but it could harm you, they could judge you by that picture. Now we all know it is illegal. But you would have to prove it.
Answered by ruscito_mom

A:
It's more traditional not to include a picture. I think it's better for people to meet YOU at the same time they see you and get to know you. Good luck.
Answered by knicname

A:
i think its not cause to apply any job they need to see your general appearance it will help both parties you and the firm you are applying to.
Answered by ladylonaa

A:
Career builder and monster do not recommend that you use a picture.
Answered by musicman47

A:
I wouldn't. Even if you are good looking and look successful, you don't want anyone pre-judging you before you even get a chance to sell yourself at an interview. In the US there are many more laws against discrimination. But, discrimination is alive and well, so don't give them any reason to judge you before you get a call from them. Who wants to be judged on looks rather than what you can offer them?
Answered by Brendan M

A:
I don't make it a habit, but there are some jobs [like cruise ship jobs] that want to know what you look like when you apply. I guess it would be dependent on how relevant appearance might be to the job. For the majority of your applications I would leave the picture off. Unless they request it.
Answered by lexa10881

A:
No photos! They may not want to hire someone old, young, white, black, male,. female== now that they know what you are, how are you going to prove your rejection was based on discrimination??
Answered by Barry auh2o

A:
The only time you WOULD use a picture is if you are pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, public relations or real estate.
Answered by Matt's Mommy

A:
I've seen this done often on resumes from other countries (i.e. Europe). I often think it's very bold for someone to do it and a bit conceited.
Answered by happybirthday

A:
Not something that you would want to do. Your words should sell you not a picture. This would only be suitable if you were applying for a modeling picture and the potential employer requested a photo.
Answered by redstar97

A:
Yes. Unless you are a model or in some other career that is orientated around visual presentation.
