Could anyone here help me with advice and tips while applying for a maritime transportation company?
Asked by PeguinBackPacker
I have a Merchant Marines Document. I have no additional qualifications nor experience. However I wsh to gain some experience through what entry level jobs I may qualify for. What jobs with my current documents should I apply for? How much do they pay? What are the duties of these jobs? Thank you in advance. Maybe it would help to provide information or sources of such. Finding stuff on the sea way transportation biz on the net is not easy, unless I want to know a bunch a stuff about WW2.

The best advise I can give you as my Grand Father said to me if you can speak English and you want to know something ASK. Most jobs of any worth will supply a requirement statement. I feel you have looked up jobs, and decided that sounds ok. If any job is a Government job you can contact the department and they will send out all requirements. But if you just nosing around for a job, that sounds OK , contact Marine dept of Government Study and talk to them. Most marine jobs that are around like the applicant to have a first Aide Certificate, so you may think of taking a course first.
