Nights and weekends part time job that pays ok?
Asked by earwaxyness
I DO NOT WANT INTERNET SCAMS! I am a college student whose vehicle just died on me. I need to get an extra job to fund transportation. Currently I work days when I'm not in class. My experience is pretty much only office work so waitressing is out. Any ideas? I would hope to make more than $6/hr somewhere if possible.

I understand that your experience is only office, but if you deal with customers in your office, than you could probably be a waitress. Much of what the best waitresses have is not something that can be taught. Waitressing is also one of the most lucrative part time jobs around, depending of course on your hours and location, but nights and weekends are generally prime hours. If that still doesn't sound good, you could try night stocking if you have a big box store near you. One other option would be to call local towing companies and see if they need dispatch help. I am not sure where you live, but here in Ohio, I was offered a dispatch job starting at $13/hr. with no prior experience. Good luck to you!

See if you have a telemarketing/call center in your area - in my area they usually pay between $9-$10 an hour plus bonuses, they have flexible hours so you can work nights/weekends - have used that outlet when I need extra cash.

Visit your campus career center, ask the counselors there for suggestions. Most colleges have job listings (both on and off-campus) that are only open to enrolled students. Try getting a job on campus. Although it depends upon what city or town you live in, campus jobs that usually pay more than the 6 hr. would include library assistant, cafeteria, note taker, tutor. Many of these jobs do not require prior experience.

try working as a hotel auditor... You can pass the time doing homework if needed... Some night time jobs offer at a higher rate because of the hours...
