Getting into Management Consulting?
Asked by Alex
In a year, I will graduate from a respectable university with a high GPA. My major is marketing, but I'm having doubts about that career. I made a list of 20 consulting firms I'd like to work for in my city. My resume's ready, and I'm about to begin researching the firms' cultures to write my cover letters. I'll apply in January for a position in May. One problem: I do not have any connections in this industry. Do you have any advice for me looking to break into this industry?

You are off to a good start...try recruiters and school job fairs...call HR departments and see what entrylevel is out there

I would think you needed some management experience before you could become a management consultant. Why would anyone trust a management consultant who is fresh out of college with no experience?
