How do I become an Oracle DBA or Solaris admin?

I will be graduating with a MSc in Networking this september and I was wondering how can I get a job as a DBA or Solaris administrator.I do have a degree in Computer Science as well.Any IT professionals out there please advise.Thanks

True ORacle DBA's are few and those positions while highly paid require oodles of experience. The reason is because Oracle is expensive and really only used by large companies with large enterprise needs. Those companies will only consider folks with extensive hardcore database experience to administer there systems, a simple Master in CompSci is not enough . My Advice start off learning something like SQL Server , become proficient in that , obtain a DBA positon in that then move your way up into Oracle. Oracle shops are very unix centric so , be sure to have strong unix skills as well.
