Does anyone know how to break into the transportation industry?

I have over 12 years of retail experience from management to display work and 5 years of restaurant experience from event coordination to service and more. I would like to apply my customer service skills to a dispatch or sales position. However, it seems like you need to have a connection. I am familiar with the trucking industry through family members employed in trucking. Any ideas?

You'd better have a family member help you get a job at one of the companies where they work. The dispatch / logistics work is pretty competitive according to my brother, who has worked in this career area for many years.
