What are the fields in engineering which are associated with the automobile industry?

I'm going into pre university and i wish to know how could i be closer to the automobile industry by studying engineering. I wish you could give me a good answer because i have great passion in cars.

There are many, as in the above response. The question is what do you like to do? Mechanical deals with one area, while electrical deals with another. These are the two most common, others might include industrial and manufacturing, and some places have electro-mechanical programs.
