What type of work (civil) will I do working and interning with the Department of Transportation?
Asked by kingmustang
There is a Provisional Grant available for Texas Dep. of Transportation that will pay for most or all of my college expenses. The provision is that I must work with TxDot for 2 years immediately after graduation. Do you recommend me going for it, will working for the Department be a good starting job? I do plan on living in Texas after graduation. I'm thinking I may want to pursue structural but I'm not sure yet, I'm a freshman this semester.

It's a good deal. You'll owe no student loans and a job waiting for you.

You need to do more investigating for the answers to whatever job you are seeking in this field. Only you can decide whether you nwant to pursue it or not. It sounds like you would be taking the right step to start with and it would be giving you a better outlook of working for the Dept. of transportation......bettyk
