what is required to become a computer teacher in high school?
Asked by ...Lovely...
I am interested in teaching...but I'm not too sure what it is that I have to do in order to become a teacher. Like what courses do I have to take? And is that even what they are called "computer teacher"? I want to teach how to use microsoft word, and powerpoint etc. to students in high school. I had a class like that but it was called BCIS. Any way, can someone please tell me what are the requirements...and does that mean that I will have to take the SAT test?
??? WHAT DO I HAVE TO MAJOR IN PEOPLE!!?

Well, I've known many students in college that are becoming teachers in various field of study, ranging from English, to Sociology, and even Computer Hardware.
Courses that you will have to start off with (and I think it is a must in all fields) is Public Speaking. These are your basic speech classes and such. You will also need to, of course, finish your general education classes.
For the teaching of Powerpoint, and Microsoft Word (Office Suite), you will have to take a moderate amount (not a lot) of computer classes that pertain to software... I wouldn't recommend hardware (that is what Im doing :0).
I think you only need the SAT if your going out of state for schooling however.
I hope that helps.
