Does an office manager of a hotel get paid overtime?
Asked by antichristdrew
Recently my boss, the General Manager of the resort I work at told me that office managers don't get paid overtime. This was a blow to me because after all those hours spent at night at the resort i was told i wouldn't get paid for it. So i was wondering if an office manager at a hotel get paid overtime?

Best Answer:
Many managers are salaried employees. They receive a set salary each pay period. They do not receive overtime but may receive bonuses for exceptional perfomance in the area they supervise. Those who work for hourly wages should receive overtime when their hours exceed 40 hours a week (or any established baseline) The standard used to be time-and-a-half for the first increment of hours and double-time thereafter. Some companies pay doubletime for those who work significant holidays.
