how is my my chance of getting recruited at management consulting companies like Mckinsey,bain and co.?

after coming across the fact that the management consultant companies do hire graduates(not only MBAs) in their firms,i saw a ray of hope to change my career according to my dreams. i never intended to do MBA.iam currently studying engineering in information technology,4th year.i have already applied for the post of business analyst and similar post in 12 such reputed post.i also have worked at two different companies while studying to gather experiance.how is my chance of getting recruited at one of those firms?please give me some tips or suggestions for standing a better chance than other candidates.

Let me ask you a question back.. Why are thinking about the mgmt consulting like.. the ones you mentioned there.. I ask this because it is easy to go after the most visible prize without understanding why you want it and then not be satisfied when you get it.. If you really feel that you will be happy at the companies you mentioned (doing any job) then you should court these folks aggressively. The companies would love to have people knock on their doors.. Go to their websites, get contact information, call these chaps.. set up informational discussions with them and discuss their hiring needs. Get contacts .. first step to getting hired.
