Is Intergrated Circuit Layout Design similiar to Electronic Drafting?

hi, i have been wondering is IC layout also called as electronic drafter. If they are not, can you tell me their differences? Thank you. Btw, do you know any company would hired internship as a IC layout technician whom without a degree but had hand-on trainning for over one year with couple senior layout engineers. Thank you for your advices

As far as I know, both terms apply and are subcomponents of CAD (Computer Assisted Drawing). I believe the more popular term you mentioned is actually Circuit Layout Design. The word "drafting" seems to have gone out of the business world.
