What is a good topic to research in Human Resources?

I am writing a research paper, and I needa topic to write about. But it has to do with something in Human Resources.

How about the diminishing role of labor unions in America? Fifty years ago, a lot of workers were unionized. Today, far fewer are represented by unions. How has that helped or hurt workers, companies, or the country in general?

That really depends on what discipline you like the best. HR is such a broad subject, but I would recommend something safety related since that part of HR is often overlooked. Try researching Heinrich's triangle and see if you think it is still applicable today. Trying to estimate the cost savings from good safety practices is difficult and controversial, but makes for a good research paper.
