You found the right person, i own a bakery! A person will have to go to get a book, and pass a test for a food handlers card. go to a bakery and ask them where you can get a food handlers manual which contains everything you need to know about food safety, storing information, and cleaning procedures. They may have one but if not, find out where you can get one from a bakery. They are free, (at least in oregon). You can just drop by and pick up one. Good luck! Try seaching on the internet for "food handlers manual"

You should check with your State laws and regulations. Some are different then others. If all else fails, just use common sence! If you wouldnt eat it after handling it, dont serve it!

Go online and using the search box type in "health and safety regulations for a bakery" but if you want you can type in the name of the state you live in because different states might have different health and safety regulations for a bakery I'm not quite sure. But I'm pretty sure some of the regulations are 1. All employees must wash their hands before leaving the restroom. 2. Clean kitchen (have a clean enviorment so no ants or insects can get inside food) 3. Always clean dishes, or any instrument customers use. 4. Employees must wear hair nets, aprons, and gloves.

A:
It varies by state. In California, a retail bakery would be regulated by the California Uniform Retail Food Facilities Law, commencing with section 113700 of the California Health and Safety Code. Contact your local jurisdiction's Office of Environmental Health (usually at the county level). They will be able to guide you to the right place.

You should talk with your local bakeries and you local Food and Health Department. If you have any trouble finding a number for them you should look in the phone book or call one of the cities offices they should be able to point you in the right direction, you might look into finding a Health Inspector and it would be wonderful if you could arrange to go on an inspection with them and by telling them that it is for a school project and that you are interested in learning the laws and regulations especially of a bakery they will probably be more than willing to help.

what are the health and safety regulations for a bakery? answer to that question can be found at department of health, to get the permits to oppen and run it you need to contact a business beuro to register and no the regs to run it this way it is a legal and not illigal one, plus one registerd you need insurance due to liabilty cases. as you may or not know the insurance deal is incase of the slip and fall yoyo's who do the slip and fall and make money fast deal. you see that alot in the big food stores but still you never know a accident does happen by dumb luck or looking to happen.

I think blablabla has good advice for you and here's another bit of advice too, don't burn what you're baking or you'll have to all it burnery instead of bakery. I myself don't do much baking cause my family has it all eaten before I have the kitchen cleaned up. I do manage to hide some of what I've just baked for myself but I have to make sure to do so before that great smell gets to anyone or I go without, darn, darn. Best of luck and enjoy your new venture.
