It depends on where you're working - - I answered your other question earlier - - I'm the woman with an MSW from FSU. An MSW is a *very* diverse degree - - in Tallahassee, Miami, or NY one can make as little or less than an entry level cerical worker or as much as $100+/hour in private practice. And don't assume that you have to have your LCSW to start providing therapeutic services - - you can work under someone else's LCSW for quite a decent (or not so decent) salary. With an MSW, you will also have the option of become MSW-level faculty in many programs (not always an option at the master's level in other areas of academia). Another option would be policy analysis/advocacy work - a whole other pay scale. Your decision about the school you attend should take your goals into account. As far as the salary question, you need to fill in more details - like the population(s) you are drawn to, the setting (agency, posh private clinic, simple practice), and the area you plan to reside in post-degree. I recently completed the program myself and have started another graduate program in a mental health field. You can feel free to email me here (use this screen name at yahoo dot com) and I'll try to help you navigate some of the more specific details. -Summer PS- I strongly suggest poking around at NASWDC.ORG for more information about the field.

Try www.payscale.com www.salary.com It matters where you work, and I assume you will get better jobs depending on the reputation of the school you attend.
